I was supposed to post today...

But I just can't. I have been to 14 thrift stores in the past 2 days. What a rush. I promise you, several posts this coming week, starting tomorrow. I have some pictures and some stores that deserve their own blogs.    Sorry to put you all on hold.
How many followers do I have anyway? It only shows 3 but I have asked my friends and family and everyone seems to be following me..... HELP!

$6 at the Swap Meet....

On Wednesdays, our local swap meet seems to go crazy at the end. If you were to show up around 2 pm, everyone is starting to close down and a few people start giving their stuff away for free or otherwise amazing deals. :)

Here, for example, are the photos of everything I paid a total of $6 for... I can't even list everything here...  The kid, fiance, and I found so much, it wouldn't fit in one photo... I had to take 4.
The plates there are "Summer Garden" by Excel... There's 3 of them and I LOOOOOVE them!!! Then, the bowl is just a kitschy little strawberry bowl. I found a bunch of stuff for crafting and for the kid....
A ton of broken jewelery and crafty supplies... some photo art by some artist I haven't looked up yet...
A jewelery box and some purses... this stuff is mostly for the kid....
And, some more random charms and jewelery-making stuff...

Then, to top it all off, we went out of our way to eat at Cici's Pizza, and there was a grand opening of a Goodwill right across the parking lot. It has only been open since the 18th of March. YAY!!!
The fiance HATES Goodwill with a passion, though, so I didn't get to look for long. We found a pair of shorts for the kid and an awesome pair of skater shoes for me. Then, my fiance comes up to me with a smile on his face and pulls a bead sorting plastic container from behind his back. "Awesome!", I said, because I can never have too many of these... But then, he opened it up....
Full of sorted beads, findings, and trims... for $5. MINE.
He also informed me that thiw coming Friday was not going to be Salvation Army day... boo!... but that we were going to los Angeles to check out thrift stores out there!!! YAY!!!    I can't wait to see what I find!!!

On a sadder (but hopeful) note... my mother has an interview with the caregivers office tomorrow. They are coming to the house to look at where she is living and if they find her in need, they will be appointing me a position as caregiver, which means I have a 9-5 job for the state! It would be a really amazing thing if I could work to help my mother, which I do anyway. She is a pretty sick woman. She started getting sick when she was 17, right after she had me. She got so sick she had no choice to give me up for adoption, and I thank her every day for doing it. She went through periods in her life where she was homeless, moving around so much, living in a truck... can you imagine what my life would have been like had I been with her then?
Anyway, she has been diagnosed with epilepsy and the doctor started tests last month for what she believes is fibromyalgia as well. She has a back problem from shattering disks in her spine when she was a gymnast as an early teenager, as well as restless leg syndrome, which is extremely painful sometimes. If you have it, you know. She needs quite a bit of help most days, to say the least.
I am really hoping that it works out.

Ok, I'm done for the day. I'm tired and I have that interview with mom tomorrow early, so goodnight, blogging world! I can't wait until I have more followers and people start talking to me more. :D

3 Complete outfits at MACY'S for $100

Saturday, the fiance and I went to eat Mongolian Grill at Victoria Gardens... a local shopping center. It was so yummy. I should have gotten a picture of it. I keep forgetting to take poignant "These are what happened today" photos. Hmmmm......
For those of you not familiar with Mongolian Grill... you pay and you get this bowl... and you try to cram as much food into this bowl as you can... We pile it up as far as we can so we can share one bowl... then you hand it to a woman (or man) and they cook it in about 5 minutes or less on this really hot hibachi type grill. We have been trying to figure out the correct combination of sauces for MONTHS. I think we finally found it today.... Garlic, a small amount of spicy hot, a generous amount of medium hot, a smooth drop of sesame oil, and then teriyaki sauce when it is done... just for a punch. We ate until we couldn't eat any more. :) :) :)

We were walking around after we ate and Macy's caught my eye for some reason, so we decided to go in. We walked all around. Checked out all the departments I nomally look at to drool. Then, we went to a part I don't look at much and you'll never guess what we found.....
RACKS AND RACKS OF CLEARANCE ITEMS. $4.99, $9.99, $19.99, and $24.99

Now, normally, I would not be looking in Macy's for things I could find at the thrift stores, but honestly... when can you ever buy something at Macy's for $9.99? SERIOUSLY.

There were so many racks I didn't even get to look at them all, but I found a TON of things to try on from the ones I went through. So many, in fact, that I turned the soon-to-be-hubby into my own personal coat hanger. I had so many things to try on while heading to the fitting rooms that he had to be let in to the dressing room specially to drop my items off for me.
I nixed quite alot of the items as soon as I saw them in the mirror. YUCK. But I came out with some finds that made me feel like a million bucks...
    - a pair of Champion brand sweatpants that feel so comfy I put them on as soon as I got home and have been wearing them every night since.... that's why you are not getting a picture of them... they are already dirty and MUST be washed now. hahahahaha
    - the softest and best fitting pair of skinny jeans I have ever put on this body - shown below paired with two different tops that we also bought at Macy's -

The best finds though, were the other ones... An amazing black and white L.A. Kitty lightweight jacket, a brown belted shirt that makes me look crazy skinny, a pair of pinstripe slacks that fit me like a dream (which is really very hard to accomplish), and a beautiful pair of owl earrings, which I am wearing in each photo... :D    I look at all those fashion mags that say this can be done... a complete outfit for $100... and I rebuffed it, just like everyone else. But this weekend I proved it could be done. Take that, doubt!

The fiance wanted me to pose on the bike so badly. He just surprised me with it for my early Easter present last night. I LOVE it!! I needed one so badly. I was riding one with no front brakes and no handle grips!!! lol
I am going to have to get you a close up photo of the amazing owl earrings as well as the other earrings I have made over the past couple days. My step-daughter brought me this flyer about their middle school having a family fun night. They want vendors to sign up for it, so I am going to have to kick my jewelery making into high gear to prepare!!! I only have like 30 different pairs of earrings made!!!!!!!

SALVATION ARMY FRIDAY!!! (Happy Dance!!!)

I don't know if you all knew or not, but every Salvation Army has 50% off on all their merch on Fridays.

I went a little crazy and visited 3 of them yesterday. Boy, did I find a whole bunch of awesome stuff. Mostly clothes---------------------------

But I also found 2 awesome purses - Both going for sale - -

I also found this Newcor plate. It's only worth about $5, but I like it and even if I sold it for $5, I would triple what I paid for it.

I found alot more things, but I don't have the photos of them. I figured that was enough photos for one day.
On a completely different note, I am sitting here watching the Kids' Choice Awards on Nickelodeon... the fiance and I like to keep it light and watch all the award shows we can. I just saw Willow Smith - who is ten years old - perform on this show... and I wonder... as I always do when I watch these... Why am I not famous yet? I know I have talent... I guess I'm just still waiting for my big break. :( More things I need to add to my blog... a video of me singing. :)
I think I need to be writing all of this down. ;p

OBSESSED WITH EARRINGS Part Deux!!! haha Did you know there would be more?

Deep Purple Glass Bead Drop Earrings - these glass beads were like $3 for a small pack - GEEZ! As soon as I saw them though, I knew they would look beautiful as exactly these. I was right. :)
The drop itself is about an inch and a half long... and I  WILL  be selling these... probably for $6.

I don't know what to call these. Some of the beads are glass, most plastic. Drop is 2 3/4 inches long. I love the way these look up against my ear, but I won't wear them, as these are for sale too. :D
I call these "Swirly Hearts" the drop is about 4 inches... plastic beads - silver and pink bicones alternated.

These are called "Dreamsicles". They just remind me of a dreamsicle... orange and swirled. :D The drop on these is 1 3/4 inches... plastic beads with orange beading wire.

Chains and Stars - Drop is 3 inches - blue chain is extremely lightweight and silver chains and stars are from a deconstructed necklace.

Last, but not least, a set - very lightweight chain. Necklace and earrings....
Blue chain on necklace is 18" with an extender 2 inches long - fastens with a claw clasp. The drops on the necklace are shown in a close- up here -
The blue chain in the center is 3 1/4 inches long, while the red and silver chains are 2 1/2 inches long each.
The earrings for the set - shown better here -
They drop 3 and 1/4 inches. All made of very lightweight chain.

P.S. The background for the earrings is my new NewCor Stoneware plate. I love it!! I'll show you the front in my thrifting blog tomorrow about "Salvation Army Fridays!!!" (Happy Dance)

I really love feedback on my creations, so please comment! Thank you all!!!

A small portion of my Smalls... inspired by Dime Store Thrift's Blog

The other day, as I was perusing the blogs I have chosen to follow, I came across a new blog by Sonia of Dime Store Thrift Blog      entitled "Smalls". It was extremely intriguing to see some of her collection and to see all the people who commented on tell about their "Smalls", so I decided to post some of my own smalls. <smiley face!>

Here's a look at some of my larger smalls - ALL of these are thrifted finds- - -

From left to right you see a sake set I found at a thrift store for $2 - It has 3 more little cups like the one shown - the two purple bottles are Wheaton Glass bottles I just found today at a Salvation Army for $1 each (I can sell these - I love them, but not as much as some of my other smalls. The little bowls are copper finger washing bowls... there are 4 in the set. There is a small eiffel tower, 2 lucky perfume bottles (both were completely full when I found them!), a ceramic blue butterfly still in its package (found for 25 cents), and in the center is my favorite small so far... a wooden hand-painted japanese doll made in japan... found today for 95 cents.

I LOOOOVE these, but I am also collecting some REALLY small smalls -

Some of these (the cupcake, the ice cream, the hampster, and the unicorn) are all those little shaped erasers. I have more somewhere, but I don't know where. Everything else is small things I have found in quarter machines except the waving cat in the back. My step-daughter gave this to me and it is probably my favorite thing she has ever given me.

I have a collection of keys as well, but that is for another day... when I can find all of them and lay them all out somewhere good. :)

Let's see more "Smalls" blogs! I would love to see your collection!!!
